Lubiani Studios

Lubiani Studios is in the business of creating art.

As award-winning artists, the Lubianis continue to hone their craft and push the limits of traditional art in fused glass, ceramics, and fine art photography. They create custom, hand-crafted pieces to suit each individual's needs.

Monica Lubiani creates unique pieces of art utilizing many types of kiln-formed glass and ceramics. The Cincinnati, Ohio native was first introduced to stained glass at a young age. Growing up in a Catholic church lined with stained glass windows, she was often in trouble for not paying attention in church because she was day dreaming watching the light stream through the colored windows.

Greg ignited her passion for stained glass when he bought her glass instruction classes for a gift. Spending years creating unique stained glass art, Monica was later introduced to fused glass while taking classes in Middletown, Ohio. Striking a friendship and mentorship with fused glass artist John Ferrando, she quickly learned the ins and outs of kiln-formed glass and dedicated her artistry to it.

Sharing that artistic spark, Greg enrolled in photography classes at Xavier University while also teaching as an Associate Professor of Economics. He fell in love with landscape and street photography, primarily shooting in black and white.

When the Lubianis moved to Texas for Greg to pursue a job at Texas A&M University - Commerce, they started Lubiani Studios in 2016.

Monica runs the day-to-day of the studio while seeking her Masters of Fine Art degree from Texas A&M University- Commerce. When she’s not in the studio or on campus, she is teaching the next generation of artists at C. B. Thompson Middle School in Quinlan, Texas.

When Greg isn’t teaching at the university, he can often be found with a camera in his hand. He almost exclusively shoots film photography using medium and large format, 35 mm and wet-plate photography - creating images on metal and glass.
